Please note Field Trip is totally OPTIONAL and if you dont sign up, we will not add student into the field trip as we need to have your permission to bring them!

1. Do I need to sign up separately for field trips?

Yes. Field Trip is OPTIONAL, it will not automatically enroll for you. Please complete it to confirm your child’s spot for each trip. This helps us finalize workshop headcounts and transportation needs in advance.

2. What’s included in the field trip fee?

Each fee covers transportation , workshop fee +admission fee, and any materials or experiences included at the destination. If you have granted field trip vouchers, they’ll be automatically deducted from your total fee once you register.

3. Can I join as a parent chaperone?

Yes, and thank you for being involved! Since this year we are booking private workshops (not just general admission), there is a shared workshop fee involved.

Here are your chaperone options:

• Option 1: Join the full tour/workshop and let BCD transport your child – Additional fee: $30 to cover your portion of the group workshop cost, You will go to location by yourself.

Or you can drive your child to and from the field trip and join the field trip, we will minus the transportation fee for you( if you use the voucher, we are not able to refund the transportation cost) additional fee for join the workshop is depends on the limitation for the location, see question #9 below)

•Option 2: Drive your child to and from the field trip but not join the tour – No fee required for you!

Please let us know which option you prefer when signing up. Your support makes these trips possible!

4. Can we buy ticket ourselves and join the field trip?

Yes, you can. However, the workshop only reserve for BCD group only. we are not guarantee your admission ticket by yourself could join our group because all of the guide tour/workshop need pay and reserve ahead of the time and the location will calculate the headcount. 5. What if my child don't want to attend a field trip?

No worries — field trips are optional. If your child isn’t attending, we’ll still have fun, enriching activities planned at camp during that time.

6. What should my child bring on field trip days?

We’ll send a reminder before each trip, but in general, your child should bring:

• Their BCD camp T-shirt (for visibility and group safety)

• A water bottle

• Hat/sunscreen for outdoor trips

• A light backpack for personal items or snacks

• Comfortable walking shoes

If you’ve ordered BCD lunch, we will bring it to the field trip location — this may be sandwiches or McDonald’s depending on the day and group preference. You do not need to pack an extra lunch if you’ve pre-ordered with us.

7. Can we know the Drivers background?

Of course, our drivers are work for our afterschool program from whole semester. Before they onboarded, they need to pass Federal Criminal background check, DMV vehicle check and driving history background check with us. Also, they need to have 1 month training with us before they can drive the kids by themselves for afterschool program pickup.

8. Which kind of the vehicle will be used?

We have 7 seats Toyota Sienna, and 8 Seats Honda Odessy, with CRV and SUV as back up if we have more kids.

9. Why there has limited headcount sign up for the field trip?

Yes, some of our field trip locations have special requirements due to safety and space restrictions.

For example, Harley Farm is an active working farm, and during our visit, the baby goats will be a bit bigger—which can feel intimidating for some younger children. To ensure everyone’s safety inside the animal pens, they have a strict limit on group size.

Similarly, Intel Museum requires environmental protection protocols and provides a guided tour with a group limit of 18 children plus adults.

If you’ve expressed interest in chaperoning, we truly appreciate it and will reach out directly. However, if we exceed the space limit, we kindly ask for your understanding and flexibility in letting the kids participate independently so everyone can enjoy the experience fully and safely.
